i'm trying to order some of the clear System 96 frit but i'm a tad confused.

when choosing the jars of frit, there's "Clear" and then "Water Clear".

anyone know the difference between the two? which one is better for the sugar frit effect?

On their website, Water clear is a casting billet. I would think the frit from it would be clearer than regular clear. I doubt it would make a difference for sugar beads.

"clearer than regular clear"?

only this artform does that sentence make any sense...lol. thanks, i'm leaning towards the water clear now as i'd like it to be as transparent and colourless as possible. i'm also debating buying both to see but if they're interchangeable might be waste of cash... esp. considering i have to buy an 8oz jar of each grind.

what i'm trying to avoid is the clear frit i have now (Kugler, i think) reduces really easily. sometimes that's a fun effect, but most times i just want plain clear frit

System 96/Uroboros clear won't reduce. I use it and it just stays plain ol clear.

I've got some of the stuff from Northern art glass, if you want to try it - I could mail you a tbsp or 2. :) - jen
