OK I've been using a home made kiln for two years. The kiln chamber is made of 1 inch thick semi-hard insulation boards with 3 inches of kaowool on the outside of the chamber. I have not used anything but the original coat of board hardener. Should I hit it with kiln wash now? What are the advantages of KW? The rigid boards are kind of fragile and I would like to keep them strong. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
