Was at Micheal's yesterday and found some copper, gold and silver leaf. Was wondering if anyone has seen these and/or melted them in beads ? According to the website, they are genuine metal leaf and in fact, the gold leaf is 23k. Thought I'd put them to the test but wanted to check here first.
Thanks,
Debbie A.

Oooo, glad you asked this question because I saw some a couple of days ago and wondered if it would work. I want to try the copper.

Yes, they are genuine "metal" leaf. Unfortunately, that "metal" is aluminum. Aluminum won't do anything but bubble up.

Read the labels VERY carefully.

Thanks for all the info. I just now re-read the outside label and there is nothing on them to indicate they are aluminum however, on the inside of the label it gives descriptions of what the actual content of each "leaf" is. The copper leaf I got IS 100% copper, not colored copper nor aluminum. The "gold" leaf I picked up is Gold Composition Leaf, not the 23k one. And finally according to the inside label info, the silver has 2 choices - sterling or aluminum - and I didn't get either of those as I already have the right silver foil ! lol ! So, live and learn as it were ! lol !
Thanks again,
Debbie A.

at least know we know that their copper is for real - but it's probably more expensive than glass suppliers. for curiousity's sake, how much was it?

I believe it was around $10.00 for a pack of 25 large sheets. I don't remember the exact cost. Not too bad though.

I had some around the house that I was using with polymer clay, and decided to experiment with the various "leaf" and glass. No dice, it burns off and turns ashy and gray.
