OK....I missed the original batch of Red Roof Tile and all the hoo-hah about it. I just got in a small amount of the "new" stuff (using quotations because I don't know if it's the same formula as the original or not!). The rods are really pretty, a nice terra cotta color, but the bead I made last night (used it as a base) seems to be a deeper red, almost transparent looking (granted, it was a quick glance at the bead as I ran out to work and pulled it from the kiln....).

Can anyone tell or show me what color it is supposed to be in a bead after it is annealed?! Thanks!!

With the old stuff, I got variations from sort of dark carmel to brick red in the same bead. Here is an example.

Don't have any pics handy. But I get the same reactions from the new that I got from the old. And none of those were transparent. I love it with Lausha cocoa and silver. Way yummy!!!

To me it looks like pumpkin pie. The new rrt I mean, I didn't get any old. I never got transparent with it either. The old looks like it got more variations and striations of colors, but I like the new just fine.

Thanks, everyone! Maybe it isn't really transparent (wasn't wearing my glasses at the time, LOL), it just looked that way. I'll have to try it out again tonight. I appreciate your help....since I only got 1/4 lb, want to make sure I don't waste it before I can tell if I like it. I like what y'all have done with it, so maybe I'll be able to make something cool! Thanks a LOT!!! :)

Have a great day everyone!

I'm very disappointed in the new rrt I got all the cool color variations like in the photo above with my little six inch piece I had, the new stuff I have is just red, doesn't turn the nice brownish color. Stupid RRT. It was my favorite, now it isn't.
