Anyone want to share their tips on getting a good reduction from their Reich. glass? I did a bead this morning using raised Iris Green stringer and tried to reduce. I did get a peacock type of reaction, but my base glass (Moretti Teal) got black with carbon... :(
Tips? Techniques? Give it up? LOL
(of course, maybe doing beads at 5:30am before going to work is a bad idea and part of the problem?)

I am totally in love with this stuff! 'Course before I 'got' it I hated it like a root canal. THEN when I went to Deb Crowley's class and saw it done I was soooo happy.\\:D/ Those were propane and tanked oxy set-ups and the fuel was turned up a bit until the candles got hmmm about 2 inches long or so and a sharp triangular shape I immediately thought of as mother-in-laws tongue. :-D Just a quick couple of wafts through the tip of the triangle and bling bling!
OK, then I got home to my set-up is oxycon's and natural gas. NG is maxed so I had to do the opposite and turn down the oxygen knob on the torch until I got teh same amount of mother-in-laws tongue. Joy, joy!
I can't tell you how many times I tried before actually seeing it done and reading about turning the propane up all the way and yada yada yada. I use a mini-cc, so your mileage may vary and yeah, 5:30 in the morning??? I think that's illegal.:-k
Oh, this works the same for me with the R-canes and the BE lusters and all the other redux stuff. Good luck Debbie!
