Okay, I know if I use a stable opaque color on something that reacts -- say ivory -- I will still get a reaction in the ivory. But I have noticed that some opaque colors you MIGHT think are stable, aren't. I guess they are bleeding.

I've played a lot with most colors, and tried to keep notes (when I think about it), and I know a lot of this comes with playing and practice, but I'm working on a specific project and was hoping for some help.

Can someone throw out a list of the most stable opaque colors? Or point me in the direction where a list might already exist? I've been searching past threads but not finding exactly what I'm looking for.

Would appreciate any help you all can throw my way.

What colors are you looking for?

The greens tend to bleed alot.

Periwinkle is pretty darn stable. So are most of the browns and the blues. Sky blue is pretty stable as well.

Light red is what is giving me the most headaches. Would it work better to put down white first?

Lisa, You could try covering the red (or white) with a thin coat of clear.
