View Full Interactive Version Of This Page : 2 torch station-propane hookup
I have another propane related question. I'm going to have propane plumbed into my new studio and would like to have 2 torches hooked up. The gas guy came out today and talked about using a fixed regulator on the tank for both torches. Does anyone know if I need a regulator for each torch? In which case they would be installed inside the house. If we use his regulator idea then it would be on the tank outside. He said he could set it at 2lb pressure, which is what I use both my torches on.

One single regulator fixed at 2psi should supply two torches easily.
All you need in studio is a "T" or "Y" connector after the shut off valve to split the single line coming in to each of the two torches.

Henry Grimmet says you should have a regulator for every hose that feeds a torch plus one feeding the shop. Ideally you would have a regulator on the tank and one for each propane and oxygen at each station. This being said, I run one regulator on my propane and one on my oxygen and have three deltas in my shop. Whenever someone kicks on an outer ring it does have an effect on everyones pressure.

This only works if both torches are the same type, or at least need the same gas pressure. If one torch needs more pressure than the other, obviously, this won't work.
And, as Andy states, if you kick on the outer ring of one torch, the second torch will experience a fluctuation.
You need to look at your torches, the type of work your studio does, and yes, your budget, to determine if your studio needs multiple regulators, or can get by with a single one.
