I was wondering where to find some copper mesh?

Thanks,
Amy

Try one of the glass supply stores that advertise in the "Sale Rack". Most have a search box which would help you to find it quickly. ;)

To save you time, one of my favorite vendors, ABR Imagery at this link:

Do you have art supply stores or hobby shops around where you are? Or you can get it online at

The copper wireform for me turned black and melted I was sooo bummed :( How do you get it the bright red and stay in the piece you intended?

We have it in smaller amounts.
To keep the color encase it right away with clear. Paula

Hi...;)
If you have a Michael's Arts/Crafts store nearby, they stock it all the time. Comes in a roll (5 feet x 16 inches). Also comes in small sheets, 3 to a pack.
I heat the copper mesh onto the bead very cool...it has to temper for lack of a better word. It does turn black and that is fine...just don't burn holes in it. After it has heated up and "tempered" it's hard to burn it after that.
Good luck!

OMG! Is that you SUE? I used to buy a ton of your beads - I still have 'em! They are so gorgeous! How have you been? Hope you are getting back into beadmaking again:waving:

Google "copper mesh crafts" and you will get lots of places you can buy it online. I think Dick Blick carries it also.

You have to heat the glass so it's pretty soft and stick the mesh down onto the glass. If it's not attached to the bead it will burn up. If you encase it right away it will be fine also.

Hi...yes, it's me...;)
How are you? Long time no talk to.
I am still at it...close to 19 years now at this, just not doing ebay or any other auction or sales site.
I've moved to the real world now...if I had to spend one more winter in Alaska, chopping wood or shoveling snow I was going to die...literally...;)
Anyway, thank you for remembering me and the compliments.
Send me a PM or email. I'd love to hear what you've been doing all this time.
Bye for now,

Sue

I found it on dickblick but there were so many different ones. I think the size that looked okay was 1/8th does that sound right? If not can anyone name a good size? Oh and thank you to Kevan who always has such great info!!!!
Many Thanks,
Michelle

You should be fine with the 1/8 size from Dick Blick, and you can stretch it (or compress) it slightly as well. Beware that stretching or repeatedly bending this sort of copper mesh makes it no longer ductile, so it will become brittle! I fiddle with it as little as possible for that reason.

And yep, encase fast. Avoid direct flame to copper.

Thank you so much I don't want to buy a product I won't use. Thanks for the tips as well.
