I have a Mini CC and a Nortel Midrange. Is there a concentrator that will work for both? Also what is the LPM vs PSI? I am all confused! :)
Also.. I work really hot.

Hi Nicole!
You can run a Mini decently on one concentrator, but you need two, hooked together, for a Midrange. A Mini gives you a much bigger hotter flame with two as well.
LPM is the volume of oxygen the machines produce, and PSI is the pressure at which they push it out of the machine. Most oxycons produce up to 5 LPM at 8-9 PSI. If you connect two together, you can double the LPM but the pressure remains the same. Both the Mini and the Midrange do well at concentrator pressures.
You might also look at Generations Art Glass for their really fabulous souped-up concentrators; they're both under a grand.

Oh.. Thank you Kalera! Looks like I will have to be saving up for the P-20

That is some good information, but I must correct one thing. Most all concentrators put out about 5-6 PSI. The Devilbiss line of concentrators put out between 8 and 9 PSI.

Justin,
I just picked up a DevilBiss 505DZ with no paperwork or anything from a local person.. If this one of the higher output machines?

Yes, that's the model I have - a devilbiss Solaris 505. My gasfitter didn't believe that it would be 9ish PSI... he figured I must have gotten psi confused with water inches. He had forgotten his anemometre (sp?) so he did the old-fashioned test, putting the hose into a deep water container to see the depth at which the bubbles stop. It went down 18 inches (the whole depth of the container) with no sign of stopping, even at just 1lpm... :) Sure showed him! :)

yes the 505DZ will put out between 8-9 psi which is good! That is also a great machine...last a long time when they are running right! :)
