Hi Everyone. I finished my testing of all of the Cool Colors I could get my hands on and uploaded the charts (http://www.listen-up.org/kitty/beads/frit.htm) to my website. My thanks to bexrox for sending me the Strawberry Shake.
I realize that these colors are not available as Frit and probably won't be, but I made my own and tested each of the colors to find out all I can about them.
Unlike any of my other charts, I've included a side view and a cross view of the rod because some of them are a bit different than what we're used to. Even though the rest of the pages appear blank, rest assured that I have indeed tested all of the Effetre line. -I just noticed that I managed to daydream and got Yellow Ochre on the first chart - Sorry.
Many have said that when they work Strawberry Shake, Cherry Shake, and even Green Tea, all they get is White so here are a few of my impressions about these colors:
It's easy to heat the color out of these 3. I notice that when I overcooked all 3 of them, the result was close to white. Please don't mistake this for burning the bead. It's an extended time in the flame, not a hotter flame BUT since I work on a HotHead, I would suggest working these 3 colors as cool as possible for the shortest amount of time possible.
The color seems to hold just a bit more on Ivory.
Strawerry Shake and Cherry Shake have very little, if any, color difference between them.
What struck me as I was taking Green Tea out of its wrappings is that it seems to be a paler version of the mix I use for a copper containing color - what I call "Pet Mix" because it's made with Petroleum Green. You can see this similarity on the charts.
Try as I might, I just couldn't get much color out of the 2 pink Shake Colors I tested, but when I reduced Green Tea, I got a nice pink/red that looks like what I imagined the 2 Shake Colors would have given me.
