Hi
I have recently gotten a kiln. A small bag of kiln wash came with it. I mixed the wash a little thinner then pancake batter and used a japanese brush to paint it on the bottom of my kiln. My question is, when I put my beads in can they lay on the kiln floor? Will the wash stick to the beads? I have not a clue. I have a bead door and I am just not sure how I should put the beads in. Help Please :-k .

They could. They shouldn't though unless you melt them into puddles. They use the kiln wash in the stuff you dip the mandrels in. Same stuff. In fact, you can just use kiln wash on your mandrels. It has a tendency to crack though.

I don't use kiln in my glass kiln, but I do in my big ceramic kiln. It prevents any sticking from occuring. I don't think ya really need it in a glass kiln for beads, at least I never have. No it won't stick.
I put my beads on a bead rack that elevates them, and after about 10 minutes of cooling on it in the kiln, I can shove them all together in the back corner of the kiln and add more.
Hope this helps!

I didn't use the wash, either. I put a bit of fiber frax (fiber blanket) on the bottom and it works great. Can put the beads right on top, if I want.
