I have read that someone on LE has a Betta and an M-15 and they said that this combination works good for them. I have this combination now since my Lynx has been sent away for work or cleaning but I don't know what to set the propane pressure on. Right now it is at about 9 psi. What should it be on, please?

Thanks in advance!
Carol

This is right from the Bethlehem Technical bulletin

Gas 1.5 lowest psi to 5psi max
O2 3 lowest psi to 20 psi max

On an M-15 I would set the Concentrator on 8 and the gas on 4 psi and see how you like the flame. This should work out pretty well. I really like this little torch. It has the capability to work at very low pressures but I find it is happiest about at these. Please note that at 9 psi you are greatly surpassing the max pressure for the gas. Turn it down and you should fall in love with this torch.
It also has a great pinpoint flame for fine detail stringer work!

Oh, I am so happy that you answered my question and could cry because I failed to explain that I am on propane not gas.

You see, my Lynx started losing it's flame a lot and I needed to send it in. As soon as my Betta arrived I sent my Lynx in.

Anyways, I am wondering what psi to put the propane? I'm so sorry about that. Thank you though for your answer!

Maybe you meant for gas or propane either one?

Those numbers are for propane.
Have fun :p

I turned the propane down to 4 and it was lots better! Thank you and you have fun, too!

Trey,
The Betta with the propane turned down to 4 psi was wonderful. The pinpoint flame was so easy and I made such an almost perfect star bead with that tiny flame. Thank you so much for answering my question.

Trey, thanks a lot for that info. I am setting up my Betta today and I can use my OGSI 15 or tanked oxy so all those figures are very very useful to me! I would have had no idea without your input.

cheers

I love the Betta!
Its just like the center fire on my Barracuda and then some.
It has the best pinpoint flame for detail work out there except for maybe my Quad Barracuda .
Super tiny and not to hot.
I like a cool flame for my stringer work!

That setup runs great on NG too!

All this information has turned out to be true. I love my Betta now! That pinpoint flame is wonderful.

I set it up yesterday. Normally I get DH to help push on the hose ends for me, but he was busy so that took me some time. I had some flame distortion with propane popouts but thanks to Troy, realised I was still not low enough pressure. Its hot and quick on low, low pressure. I am thinking I will like the torch very much.

Thanks
Kym

I only use 2 psi on my propane if it is higher I get to much carbon on my beads. But I only have a 5 lpm concentrator though

I might try turning mine down to 2psi because I'm only using a 5 lpm right now, and I have noticed some discoloration on my beads but didn't know what it was. Thanks for that information, Lori.
