ok so iv been looking at both of them and noticed that there ports are the exact same other than the lynx is triple mix. and im wondering which uses more o2 and what oxy con i would use for both is there a big flame difference between them what are your views on them? im leaning towards bobcat because its cheaper :P by the way i will be doing boro and was thinking a m15 would power the lynx or bobcat for boro??

They both use close to the same amount of oxygen (LPM), the the Lynx requires it to be delivered at a slightly higher pressure (psi) because the tiny injector tubes present more restrictions.

That being said, the Lynx can get much hotter on the same oxygen source than the Bobcat or any other similarly-sized standard torch. It can also get a wider variety of flame sizes, shapes, and chemistry because of the triple mix.

I have both and If you are going to be doing boro, I would go with a lynx. As to which cox con, drop Kim at pyronamix a line and she'll give you the best info.A bobcat cat and it is capable of doing boro but you may out grow if to soon. Just my 2 cents!
But any rate GTT, is they way to go with any torch!

I too suggest just bypassing the Bobcat and getting the Lynx. It's what I did and I've never looked back. Even after buying the Lynx I've purchased a larger torch (not GTT) and I love the Lynx so much I cannot bring myself to hook the other one up after about 18 months!

If you're going to get a GTT, get a Lynx. The Bobcat isn't much different flame-wise than other torches in the price range, and others are cheaper. The Lynx is a whole different story though.

I used the Bobcat for many years, loved it! Decided to upgrade to Lynx, and it's wonderful too! Versatile, very capable of boro, etc. I kept the Bobcat for backup so all is good!

Best,
Lea
