I was torching this morning, for about 4 or 5 hours just fine when my flame went to yellow tips, no pressure then it hissed and died. I turned the propane off, went outside to check my bottle, it is full. I tried to restart the torch, I can get a flame with the propane, then when I turn on the OXY it hisses it out.
So is this the torch or the hurricane that is the problem? I'm thinking it is the hurricane, I'm going to hook up my old minor and see if that works.
Any thoughts?

Torches don't behave like that on their own. It's the oxygen source.

If your using a torch like a GTT there are screens where the hose hooks up to the torch which could be clogged.

Good call - I didn't even think of that! Sometimes bits of the rubber hose or any debris that may have been in a hose (especially if the hose has ever been left on the ground while unattached) can get lodged in there and block the flow of oxygen. It's rare to get something big enough to totally seal it off, but it could happen.

While you're checking your screen on the oxygen stud, look at the screen and check for a white powdery residue. It can be fine like talcom powder or a little gritty like fine sand.

I just went out and looked at my Lynx, the connections at the torch look rather daunting, not something I'd want to mess with. They have little pinched on metal bands that look like they would be wrecked if you messed with them. Soon as life lets me I'm going to hook up the minor to see what that does, if it's the same, then it's the oxy, if it's ok then I guess I'm sending my torch in for service. Next order is the swimming pool filter that blew up today, sheeze..... what's next... I don't want to know.

This is a picture of the studs coming of the back of a GTT Bobcat. It's the same for a Lynx. They are just short lengths of hose that go between your torch and your hose set. Leave them connected to the torch.

If you follow the studs to their ends, you will see where they connect to the hose set. In my picture, they connect right under the edge of the workbench. You can see the little hose clamps. The brass barb fitting at the end of each stud goes into the bare end of an oxygen hose and is held in place with a hose clamp. You can unscrew the hose clamp and pull the barb out of the hose. You don't need to mess with the crimped clamps, at all.

These are the brass barb fittings at the end of the studs. There are little screens at the tips of them. That is what you would look at when checking for debris.

Another thing to try:

Unhook your oxygen line from your generator and try running it. Put your hand to the outlet and feel for anything coming out. Without anything restricting the flow from that machine, you should feel quite a bit of oxygen coming out.

If you don't feel anything come out, double check that you have the flow valve open and that nothing is blocking the air intake. Check your filters.

If still nothing, call Jack.

Oh, while your torch is still connected... When you run just the oxygen, can you feel anything coming out of the end of your torch face? If so, turn off the oxy valve just long enough to to light the propane, turn the oxy valve back on slowly. Does it blow out the flame? If so, the generator is producing extremely low purity - it's basically just pushing air. Call Jack.

Thanks Kbinkster for your pictures, so nice of you. And thats what it's doing (your last post). There is plenty of air coming out, but it blows the flame out. I have call in to Jack, hope to talk to him Monday. Thanks again for your help.

And Kimberly, I'm happy with my Lynx back home again. I tried it out last night, it was like a dream......I so love my Lynx! Thank you so much for all the correspondence and help getting it sent in and fixed. I'm just kicking myself for not asking Wally to stick that $20-$30 Lynx DVD in the box when he shipped it back to me!
