I want to know the pros and cons (kiln question)
 

I am fascinated by watching the manufacturing procedure to make a glass plate with glass art kiln.
I have gotten tons information about from the bullseye website.

However, I could not find any relative site for boro glass (I got curious about it while I was searching for a glass pot).

Could you know me the pros and cons of making a plate with boro glass and another plate with bullseye.

I don't think there is any relative site. To do something comparable in boro would go above the limits of most glass kilns. Not to mention the availability and cost of boro flat glass and it's tendency to devitrify at the temps it would need to sit and soak. I've just never heard it done outside of a factory setting, like for cookware. And even that's not really done anymore here.

Most kiln work is done in 96 and 90. There is a wonderful variety of glass available in each COE. Boro, however, is well suited for sculptural work and marbles.

Almost all of the boro flat glass is tempered plate, which means that you can't cut it to size or shape. You have to de-temper it before you can do much with it. It's not cheap and would take an awful lot of heat to work in a kiln.
