Oxygen?

Anyone running a national that's not on tank ox?

Nighthawk 2015-01-11 5:55pm

was wondering if a ex 20 will run my M8

Buy one and it will work and if you decide you need more power buy a 2nd one.

I run a 8LPM 15psi on my bobcat wide open, when the time comes and I get a bigger torch I will just buy a second 815 and hook them together or buy a homefil and fill my tanks.

I would get started making your own Oxygen as soon as possible, I spent way too much on tanked, enough to pay for the oxycon several times.

Don't I know it :)

At the risk of sounding like a broken record.... liquid oxygen. It is far cheaper than tanked O2, much more efficient and effective than an oxycon and when you get a bigger torch you wont have to get another oxycon.

I am on liquid. I have heard the flame chemistry is different with oxycons than on liquid or gas. Lower O2 percent. Comments?

Yes. Compressed or liquid both 99+%. Best I have seen documented from an oxycon is 94%. Available volume is typically much lower from oxycons as well. I would never suggest that a beginner working boro start off with an oxycon. Too many issues that a beginner just does not need to deal with on top of learning the material.

Liquid O2 will always rule the roost.

With the oxycon running a home fill with it to fill tanks lets you use a bigger torch.

Then there is High volume low pressure system, purchased or home made.

Im going to do the homefill route and make my own oxygen.

My oxycon does a good job on my small torch and I strictly work boro.
I will have to upgrade my torch in the future to work bigger pieces.

If I had to haul tanks I would be broke, with no money for glass.
