Cornbread, do you do this for a living, or is this hobby for you?

very nice Wine stopper!!

Cornbread 2012-07-17 11:35am

just a hobby! I'd LOVE to try and make a living at it, but I'm a little scared to try!

istandalone24/7 2012-07-17 11:41am

the reason i asked is, i'm going to sooner or later give it a go. it's going to be a few years before i feel i'm ready to produce saleable marbles, and i'm going to not quit my day job until it's proven itself to be possible lol.
just the possibility that i may even be able to supplement my income with hot glass work is extremely inspiring.

Cornbread 2012-07-17 9:32pm

Yeah, it def is a supplemental income for me. Always prefer cash sales too! haha!

Cornbread 2012-07-17 9:41pm

I put these in S&T but thought they deserve to be in this thread too.

istandalone24/7 2012-07-18 4:07am

do you sell your work through ebay/etsy or anything?
you do really nice work.

Cornbread 2012-07-18 5:57am

I do mike. I used to have etsy linked in my signature bar...I'm curious to know what happened to it. but you can just search "JustinBaker" in the meanwhile.

istandalone24/7 2012-07-18 6:12am

and that i will. thanks.

Wine Bottle Stoppers

Justin,
Those are beautiful....and your video is great!!!
What kind of corks do you use? I've been looking for a replacement for the stainless steel ones I've used in the past. They're expensive and I have to glue to marble on.
Thanks.
Suzanne

Cornbread 2012-09-18 6:49am

The corks I used are a food grade #2 with hole. Do a google search for a #2 stopper with hole and you should be able to find some at beer brewing places. They cost anywhere from 30 cents to 75 cents depending on the supplier.

Wine Bottle Stoppers

Thanks Justin,
I'm on the hunt for them locally. I've also found a few places to order them from online.
