Headpin Tutorial?

Has anyone done or seen a tutorial for making glass bead headpins?
I am unsure if the bead is made on the wire, or glued on afterwards.
Type of wire to use etc. TIA, Dianne

Those are a few threads that came up when I did a search, there were lots more hits but I didn't check them to see what came up.
Show us if you make some!

Hi Dianne
When I make them I use copper mainly, I heat it in the flame till the end gets a little tiny bit of a ball, then I wind on my glass, add frit or what ever, shape it up and pop it in the kiln. If I'm making it for silver wire then I have some steel wire that Idipped in bead release making it fit the size of my silver wire.......make my glass part the same way and pop in kiln. Next day I clean it out and glue it on to the silver with epoxy.
I am sure you can make it right on the silver but I was afraid I would melt it cause I tend to get closer to the flame as I work and have to keep reminding myself to move back....figured my wire woudl turn into a big ball before that LOL

Using Sharon's method of using epoxy, would a silver coated wire, like Artistic wire work? If so, what gauge would you suggest?

I'd like to know which thickness as well as I'd like to make some of these.
