Grinder question

I’ve been offered a grinder similar to the picture below. Can it be used for any tasks related to Lampwork beads?

You could grind any rough ends of your mandrels.

I think you can get buffing wheels for them so they're not limited to metal work alone.

But you would want to set up some serious housing and get a variety of wheel types and buffing compounds so it would be a major side branch to your creative talents.

Nice to have if just for the mandrel end shaping alone though.

I have some grinding stones that I fit in the chuck of my cordless drill for mandrel ends though.
Much less expensive and takes up a fraction of the space.
I had picked them up to sharpen lawn mower blades in place, so classic double duty tools.

Don't forget the safety glasses in either case.
You don't want to know how I know this.
