I have been playing with my rods of melia. I am not getting the beautiful results it is capable of. I know it is a reactive glass, have played with striking and reducing it. Anybody having any luck with this glass? Any tips?

Hi Jilly, you are not saying what results you are getting?
I use it mostly for a reducing blue glass. I can't find any pics right now but I know i went through a whole rod recently. I reduced carefully and lightly after cooling....it seemed to reduce pretty quickly. I turned down my oxy a little and up the propane, waft in and out.
I thought it was one of the easier ones, but I don't know how to get that aged bronze look.

I am getting streaky gold results basically. Tan earthy.. this is using it alone, work hot, cool and reduce.

that might be right. Their sample for surface shows that aged bronze look, I think you have to reduce it a few times and hold your tongue right. Raised might go metallic? With encasing you should get some shimmery blues. That is what I have been doing. I haven't tried any surface apps.
