Spinning Tops

2 Attachment(s)
We recently saw the movie Inception. My son, spying a pile of chunky disc beads, asked me if I could make a spinning top. A couple of days later and plenty of wasted glass, I figured it out.

I have received so much from the LE community and, finally I feel that I have something that I can give back.

Please enjoy and feel free to ask any questions you might have. If you want to flame me, please just go away.

I love the idea of using mandrel for the handle, I have made these using glass rod for the handle but it would be easier to center the glass on a mandrel as you did. Thanks for the tut.

I've got 3 in the kiln, they were so much fun to make.

I have the spacer stubby bi-cone roller but it seemed to work ok on the largest size I have in it.

I'm planning on making many more of these.

Thanks!

I have the top marver (bought it at Arrow Springs) and have made one top that didn't spin at all. This is a great way to do it and I'll give it a try. Can't wait to see what others have made.
