Controller help, please
I have an old (17 yrs) EK Miller kiln with the original Watlow controller and the controller has stopped working properly. It turns the kiln on and it will begin heating, but then the kiln shuts down. I've had the kiln looked at and it's working fine. Should I buy a new controller, and if so, which one, or do I get this one fixed? TIA!

the watlow 1166 board burns out after so much use, we replace allot of them for customer's. don't bother trying to get it fixed, it will cost you more the a new one.

Thank you. Any suggestions on what new one I should get?

My mom has a good kiln for glassmaking/fusing. I will get you the details when we get home from the gathering.

Thank you dunnoson. I'm actually looking for a controller, though. I already have the kiln

If the Watlow gave good service, I would replace with same model if still available, if not available get Watlows recommendation for their replacement of that particular model...

Thank you Dale. Watlow doesn't seem to have anything similar any longer, so I'm going with a Bartlett 3K.

There are lots of controllers out there, we use the fuji pxr3's in all our kilns.

Yes... The FUJI seems to have a good reputation...

The Fuji PXR-3 does work well. Have found new ones on Ebay in the $75 range. Look for the PXR-3 RCY1 4V0A1
