New Studio Done
 

My sweetie totally redid my studio for me. I was working on a 6 foot table in my furnace room, the kiln on a cart and a laundry cart behind me that held all my "stuff".

Here's the new room.....

He built the bench, attached to the wall and it's covered in floor tile. The ventilation system works off the range hood and there is an inline fan also mounted in the ceiling. I have both a high and a low setting.

The TV is mounted to the wall to my right (gotta watch my Law and Order reruns!). He put the stainless on the back wall so my magnet things can hang there.

And you can see the kiln has it's own home.

The opposite wall has a kitchen cabinet spanning the entire length (almost) and has a working sink for cleaning beads. The wall not shown has all my other beads in storage containers stacked up and my tools.

All in all, it's a great setup and I just love it (and him!). It took him about 2 weeks to do once we figured out what we needed and how to do it.

I'm soooooo happy! hehehe

What a great studio. I love the magnet wall, and your rod storage. What do you have in the tins? frit? You have a keeper for sure. Both him and the studio, lol. Pam

Thanks! Yes, the tins have frit, some copper tube thingies that I have no idea how to use, some wire and some latticino, which I also have no idea how to use.

I inherited some of the "stuff" that I have from a friend who started and then quit lampworking....

And yes, he's a keeper! He cooks too....oh, and has his own massage table that he LOVES to use! hehehe....yep, yep, I'm spoiled!

I need to know as I have looked everywhere, where did you find your stringer holder thingies???? Maybe it is the definition, "stringer holder thingies" that I am using that is hindering my search, but, I cannot find them anywhere!

Those are ice-cube trays for water bottles. Clever no? I got mine at wal-mart, about $3 a pop, but well worth it. They're great.

OH MY!! (I'm green here!) I'm sharing my studio with a long skinny laundry room!!
Your DH did a wonderful job!!! A massage table, oh you are spoiled!! But well deserved, I'm sure!! Enjoy your new space!!

I have the exact same thing! LOL Lampworking on the south wall, laundry on the north. Just have to watch for dryer lint and to move the hanging laundry that is drying so the kiln doesn't set it on fire.

You are right in the stringer storage....walmart...about 3.00. Not my idea, a friend's idea! It's only organized cause I cleaned it up to take the pics....lol....

I wish I would have taken pictures of where I was...this is a vast improvement.....

Very nice studio! I love the magnetic tins.
BTW if anyone is interested in some tins like those to hold frit/beads whaterver- Walmart has them in the wedding section.

your new set-up looks really nice. But if I may...the far right side of your glass rack is kinda outta reach, and in an awkward position.

If you switch your kiln with your glass rack (your kiln being repositioned in the corner, and at a 45-degree angle), it would make things a bit more accessible and "balanced".

Just my initial observation.

But once again, your set-up is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!

Nice! Look at all that glass....

Those little tins are the bomb, aren't they? I got mine at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and they're very handy.

I love the tins! I have about 5 and I want to get more!

I love the magnet storage. Also, is that an electric skillet to pre-warm shocky glass? What a great idea!

Great studio! I especially like the convenient place for your magnetic tins on the wall.

My hubby also built a table for me and he covered it in a large sheet of stainless. I must say though,
in case others want to create such a wall, stainless will not attract magnets.
Did he use some other metal, maybe simple sheet metal?

(We also have a stainless regfrigerator/freezer...no photos there! :sad: )
