Need Info On Pandora Beads

Hi!.......I have a question for you all...........I need to know what size mandrels are best for pandora style beads and also what size silver tubing for the cores is right for the same size mandrel? In other words, if I use a 3/16 mandrel, what size tubing would I use? And is 3/16 a good size for pandora?

I read the threads but everyone seems to have a different answer and it was way to confusing for me! ](*,) I will be doing these by hand, with dapping punches and a rawhide mallet, no machine involved.

Thanks for the help!

I use a 3/16 mandrel and usually have to slightly enlarge the hole to use this tubing: http://www.sfjssantafe.com/SmetalsIt...+Silver+Tubing
Item number:118200 5.03mm / 4.3mm
It is very close to this tubing: http://www.lampworketc.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=90452
that bulk buy is closed, but if you contact Ginko, or look around in the bulk buy section, that should help. If you don't want to silver core them, I think you will use a 5/32" mandrel. I'd have to look into that, so don't quote me on that. I buy 3/16" mandrels from Howaco, Jamey is great. Here's the link for that: http://www.howacoglasssupplycompany....nd_tubing.html

I hope this clears it up for you, I know it can be very confusing! feel free to pm me, i'll do what i can to help.

Thank you Laura!.....I ordered some 3/16 mandrels and I will have to wait for another paycheck to buy the tubing! I'm sorry I missed the bulk buy, I will have to wait for the next one.
