Turn a Pretty Button into A Easy Bead Embroidered Pendant

This would be really lovely using a lampworked button, but I was asked to use a metal one for the tutorial/demo. For your first try, use a button with holes in it (not a shank button) and a flat back.

Enjoy!

Thank you, Karen! I'll see whether I can get a photo up sometime soon of the technique using a lampwork button...

Will it work if the button isn't round? My lampwork buttons are usually oval, no matter how hard I try to make them round. :)

HannahRachel 2013-01-21 10:14am

Yup. It'll work if its not round. Oval is just as easy. Its a little harder if you have a bunch of bumps on it like this guy:

But with a little bit of patience, you can do those as well...

Hey! I recognize that bracelet!

Thanks Hannah! I will use one without the bumps.

your work is always stunning and it was awfully nice for you to share with us :-) I have lots of cabs....I need to give this a whirl but I'm horrible at color mixing. Seriously horrible!

Thanks much for your kind words. I enjoy doing these freebies!

Please keep ideas coming for more "how-tos." I appreciate the suggestions.
