I tried this earlier this evening, and they were so much fun to do! I can't wait till tomorrow to go check the kiln! Thanks again for this tutorial!

SandyQ 2008-04-14 9:52am

Here is my first attempt at this tutorial. I think I am going to play some more with them :)

StOrM 2008-04-14 2:13pm

Your are way better than my first ones :) I really like that colors in the second one
and the swirl in the first one is kinda neat :)

here is my first attempt....:(

I think i need more PPP!

Howie 2008-04-14 3:46pm

Thanks for sharing this. I think these are really cool looking!

I got to work on a minor for a couple hours this past Saturday and this is one of the techniques I was excited to try. I just picked the beads up today and will take pictures tomorrow.

Mine aren't nearly as nice as the ones you all have shown but they're the best ones I've made so far. :)

susanlambert 2008-04-14 7:39pm

these are beautiful! I tried... the clear doesn't go over the sides like I'd like it too. I must be impaired with this technique. I've tried putting a LOT of clear on like this tutorial says, but maybe it's not enough even yet.

Wow! Great Tut!

Thanks!

Candy, I just saw this tut and I wanted to tell you that I think it is excellent. Thanks for taking the time to make it and explain it. You are wonderful! I can't wait to try them.

SandyQ 2008-04-20 7:34am

I must agree with the tutorial. I tried for like 5 years to do these encased triangles, and they always turned out like doodie LOL. SO, A HUGE THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!

Great tutorial. Those are lovely beads with all the layers you add. And I love the few words, lots of pics way of explaining!

I can do an encased triangle just OK, but when I try to get the triangles of two solid colors, my triangles look more circular with rounded ends..any tips???
Im starting with a small black spacer..adding four white dots on the left and right shoulders of the beads, not melting in completly and encasing.

Another thing I didn't mention because I thought it was obvious, I guess, is that you can follow these same steps to make regular triangle beads.

+ =

First 3 steps, plus heavy encasing will make regular triangle beads. The only aspect that I would do differently is that I'd make the dots bigger so that they'd stretch from hole to hole after encasing.

Wow, great beads everyone! I've put in a couple more months of PPP since my last dismal attempt, and I'm happier with this one.
