Bobbin beads

I would like to make some bobbin beads, is there a specific kind that needs to be used? or is it OK to use the good ole metal ones from way back? Thanks in advance.

Peace Wendy

Steel bobbins are best as they can "take the heat" so to speak. :D

arrowsprings sells a bobbin mandrel if you can't find a chopstick or something that holds the bobbins. I buy stainless steel bobbins on ebay.
