Presses: vertical versus horizontal orientation

Looking at Perlenpressen presses and trying to decide which would be more useful: vertical or horizontal hole orientation.

Which would you use more?

Depends on what's more important to you.
The look afterwards or the handling while you fill up the press with glass.
Just look at the horizontal one and try to imagine what a PITA it must be to fill up this press.
You' ve just a small amount of glass above the mandrel. I can foresee a lot of pressing until it's done. And constantly fear the top cools off to quick.
So my choice would be the vertical one. ;-)

I agree that the vertical one looks easier to use, but they would give slightly different looks. Depends on what you want to achieve. Very pretty shape!

I love the vertical one. I can see so many design possibilities. The horizontal one looks like it would also be challenging to work with the finished shape.

Thanks, all! I think I’m going with the vertical one.

I agree that it would be hard to use the other one.
