Gorgeous. Are the two ruby red rods on either side the new DH Rhea color and what color are the pretty opaque blue beads? Lydia

designerbeads 2017-03-15 3:31pm

yes, Dh one of the test batches for the rhea and the blue is one of the marmoreo lapis colors

Very pretty. Thank you. 😊 Lydia

I've been playing a bit with Skylla. Do you have to encase it to get the pinks and reds?

designerbeads 2017-03-16 4:40pm

I can't say I'm an expert...

Eileen 2017-03-16 4:42pm

Lovely! (ps, there is another thread from a month or so ago to see more)

neagle 2017-03-17 6:57am

Thanks, Eileen!

I still want more pics...

Honestly my beads look just like your dots, just bigger form. I don't have any on hand at the moment.

I've only gotten pinks/reds/blues just like the pics designerbeads showed, nothing like yours, love all the colors!
Oh, I don't encase. To me it's just like tnt/2

I've been making guitar knobs out of Skylla. Here it is over black. I work it really hot, then shape it quickly. It does seem to be a slow striker, like others have said. Sometimes I feel like it will never strike, but luckily I'm able to reproduce consistent color! I dont encase, in my experience, it tended to mute all my color.

I get a lot of pinks and reds, I find it especially easy if you blow it into shards first.

neagle 2017-04-04 5:31am

Wow. Those guitar knobs are awesome.

designerbeads 2017-04-04 6:50am

Those look great!

I am glad this thread was started. It convinced me to buy and try out skylla. I will definitely keep this in my active glass supply.
