Dichro scraps?

Hi all!
I've been wanting to try some dichro.
I don't want any full strips or anything (ecspecially at $18-$20 a strip)
I only used dichro briefly in 104 and I liked it. Been dying to try it in boro.
Where can I get just some scraps, or chips of some different colors/etc?

Thanks!
Brat

Haven't bought any in a while.... I burn it up to fast LOL
CBS used to have scrap packages that were very reasonable and the pieces were from 1 sqr inch to 3 or 4 inches square, but not necessarily square. Very workable though. I suppose the other coating companies have the same thing.

Sunray at Trev's glass usually has great dicro at really good prices.

ABR has scraps.

I'm alittle confused....are you looking for 104 dichro or is there a boro dichro?

beadsbybrat 2012-01-26 3:29pm

I'm looking for boro dichro. :-)
I still have some 104 I think. Shame I can't use it with my boro.
I have some pretty patterns too.

Thanks for the suggestions guys :-)

here is some on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/DICHROIC-HOT...item20acc1d6f5

that thin ebay dichro is very hard to use - it will frustrate you to the point of not wanting to use it at all. Go with the dichroic variety pack or Wizzard series -

There aren't many people who are happy with that dichro.. If you have never used Boro Dichro I's suggest you not buy that one.. but a CBS blend

Ive tried that ebay stuff, it will work if you are extremly careful not to get it in the flame and if you don't stretch it much. That said, the bag I have of it sits on the shelf cause the cbs is so much easier to use and looks way better too. But if you want to learn how to handle dichro really carefully then that is the stuff for you lol

Sunray I see you have TG Dichro on your site, hows that stuff to work with? And do you have scrap bags?

I just found some dichro scrap on Rose Valley Glass in 33 coe. Don't know anything about the quality. Plus they offer strips in affordable prices too.

we sell CBS dichro by the 1/2 or whole lb. it is a great way to try dichro, or make money with it if you aren't color specific.

I love some of Trev's (Sunray) combinations that they have made by CBS.

Thick and easy to work with.

I punty to the dichro, heat in kiln to 950 or so and then encase as a "sandwich" before I use in my marbles or other pieces.

MIke...

Great idea Mike, Thanks.

Big fan of Trev's glass Dichro. The prices are good, and the dichro patterns are my favorite.
