VERY nice work ! Care to tell us what glass you are using ?

Bunyip 2011-02-03 6:05am

Cool Stuff - love the first one and the really bright blue one lots but they're all rockin'

Those last few look like the new NS "alien tech" tubing / cane, which is awesome indeed.

Rodger 2011-02-03 6:48am

Yeah I spy 'alien tech'! Awesome. The A/P in that first pic is stunning, and I love the 4th one down too!

Bobeche 2011-02-03 6:52am

Gorgeous flowers!

e. mort 2011-02-03 8:15am

very nice! great colors! i will have to try some of that alien tech one of these days when I have some money to spend. Just spent the last of my stash on black, blue, and clear. How boring, right? LOL

brayjr4484 2011-02-03 1:01pm

Thanks so much yall :) The first three are AP or double AP petals, leafs are mystery adventurine, slides butterscotch blown in, the implosion on the first is AT and BUtterscotch, the second and thirs is AP i think. the Last one is all AT. I love northstar colors!!! Eric I was very hesitant on the AT for $ reasons. But seems to be very popular with my collectors so worth the extra $ i think. I also just wanted to make the AT slide, but since it was so expensive and I didnt wanna waste any, I made the others first so I could be in the flow of things when I did the AT one.

Cornbread 2011-02-05 11:51am

Nice job turtle. is it just me or do you just want to eat alien tech like it's candy?

Margrieten 2011-02-05 1:49pm

I just said all time, oooooooooohhh and aaaaaaaaaaahhhhh.
What a beautifull work!
My compliments!

glasskat2010 2011-02-06 1:48am

WOW!!!!!!!!! I am in shock as to how gorgeous those are. Absolutely LOVE all of them. No apology needed for the number of pics.
How much did the Alien Tech run you? How do you strike it?

brayjr4484 2011-02-06 4:24am

Yall makin me smile :) glasskat- Same prices as ABR dave quoted in Alien tech Thread. its flame struck, the clear layer makes it difficult and did also let it go through two kiln cycles to bring out some more colors in the leaf part. this color is just so much fun to use, and the end results, Like Justin said It is like candy you wanna eat. I really have to give credit to this color not my ability.

Crazy Woman 2011-02-06 7:31am

Awesome! What color! Drool....

Beadz Gone Wild 2011-02-06 8:58am

Awesome work.............something to aspire to. Your colors are amazing!
I'm still working on compressions and other than the damn bubbles in the clear I'm liking most of what is coming out of the kiln. My latest:

Roberta, I love your flowers! Why do you call them compressions? I can't seem to get my implosions to rise, and suggestions? Again, great pendants!
Dave

alpenlutz 2011-02-06 10:55am

Roberta good to see your pendant. It looks really good.

Crazy Woman 2011-02-06 11:10am

Beautiful, Roberta. John Kobuki calls them compressions.

Beadz Gone Wild 2011-02-06 11:55am

Thanks everyone. I'm having a blast working with boro and seeing what it can do. Yes, John calls them compressions which is really what they are as you are really compressing the design up into your clear. As John puts it..........."It's a balancing act" and boy is he right. I'm now eyeing up a GTT Scorpion. I like my Carlisle Hellcat but would like a torch with a little bit more focus.
Hi Leslie:waving:

Thanks Bro

Dasi 2011-02-11 6:23pm

really beautiful work! as usual!!!
These were made after I read the Ron Bearer marble tutorial. I made cabs instead.

pipyr 2011-02-12 5:27am

Great show so far! Otter, those are awesome!!

I posted a thread about this piece in the gallery...it's still a WIP, as I have some tweaks to make to the background and stuff, but you get the idea. Blown, sandblasted, and oil painted. Encaustic background, stainless steel supports...

Pipyr, I saw this in the Gallery and wanted to say I just love it! The facial expression on the creature is to die for. It really captures a feminine feel looking lovingly at the perfect fish. The whole piece speaks of deep emotions. You really put yourself into this piece.
Heather your cabs are wonderful. Keep em coming!
John, love the new pendants. Unusual shape and terrific colors.

J.Meader 2011-02-12 4:20pm

Turtle, Roberta, Otter, Dasi and Pipyr Beautiful Work !!

I have been crankin out hearts for V-day, here are a few

Beadz Gone Wild 2011-02-13 9:01am

First let me say that the work in here is outstanding.
Posted this in the marble gallery but wanted to post here to. I'm kinda proud at my progress as I've only been working boro one day a week for a couple of months.
Just got my marble mold and made my first two marbles since taking JK class in Denver. Still having issues with bubbles but was still pretty happy with my results.

Up to now I didn't think I'd like making marbles but I gotta say I'm hooked - at least on flowers. Yesterday's torch session was so much fun!
