How did I make this vine stringer?

I made the vine stringer and the pumpkin in 2012 but I dont remember how I made the stringer. I have tried to reproduce it but I am doing something wrong because the dark lines are either very faded/light or bleed into the green. Any suggestions?

Maybe you were using encased black stringer to make them? I do that when I want a true black, but don't want the black to web.

Lyssa 2014-01-12 5:55pm

Good idea for future but not what i did before. :)

Eileen 2014-01-12 6:04pm

Did you encase the striped green? It looks really shiny to me, like maybe you encased the whole thing.

allicat 2014-01-12 6:13pm

Are the lines black? Or dark brown? Hard to tell in the pic.

Lyssa 2014-01-12 6:41pm

I believe they are black.

jeepinwelch 2014-01-12 6:46pm

Not sure of the base color. The stripes look like intense black and the entire cane appears to be encased in med grass green.

Looks like CIM Olive...

Lyssa 2014-01-12 8:11pm

Not CIM Olive. I dont have any.

How about one of the new Effetre greens, like Cave?

dusty 2014-01-12 9:35pm

You have to put deep grooves in the green, then lay down the black lines inside of the grooves.

I wouldnt have done that. :\

EchoTantuli 2014-01-13 12:08am

Ephalba Dark maybe? I second the maybe encased green before adding the stinger to the cane.

Gillianbeads 2014-01-13 5:45am

I was thinking Kryptonite for the base...to me it has the opalino look to it.

rainygrrl 2014-01-13 9:11am

My kryptonite doesn't look like that.

rainygrrl 2014-01-13 9:12am

If not intense black, maybe Hades?

echeveria 2014-01-13 9:16am

Petroleum green blob, intense black stringers, pull

Eta, or hades instead of IB

To me, this looks like Moretti Opaque Grass Green (Med. or Dk.) base with CiM Hades Black stringer lines, heated and pulled...

;)

I tried to do that, and the lines didn't come out right. I'll try again. :\

Yeah, or Intense black. I've noticed some of my more recent purchases of intense black aren't as good as some earlier ones. of course since I never date anything (nor did I ever separate out my moretti from my Vetrofond...)...

VivianLampwork 2014-01-14 7:33am

This is what it looks like to me :)
