Gathering 2015?

Anybody know where the ISGB gathering is to be held next year! I am just getting organised for travel in 2015,
Thank you

Hi KMD,

I was wondering the same thing. I'm going to ask in The Bathroom, since quite a few of the LE peeps talk about it there. Hoping to go someday myself.

I'm crossing my fingers for somewhere on the West Coast.... somewhere I can drive, with a trunk full of Silly Contest Prizes & a big fat poofy purple FlameDame dress and the fattest fluffiest feather boa EVER!

SuzyQ 2014-03-26 11:29am

We are definitely looking at the West Coast. But the location decision is a couple months away.

kmd 2014-03-26 7:34pm

West Coast???? Yiiipppeeeee!

If it were in Seattle, it would be ahhh-mazing and closer for the Canadians!

Diane (clarus) 2014-03-30 9:23pm

It was in Bellevue in 2012.....

tiggybubba 2014-03-31 8:49am

Portland would be pretty good too. A little far to drive but a short flight.

Kendra Bruno 2014-04-01 4:07pm

We are several months away from announcing our 2015 location simply because we are still reviewing all of the many options.

It will not be Seattle in 2015, however we are looking at destinations/cities in the western part of the states. No guarantees that it will be west coast, but certainly in the west, southwest, western part of the map.

If we can announce sooner, we will, but plan on it being a couple of months before you hear.

Thank you!

Any dates yet for Gathering 2015? I have a BIG birthday coming up and think I might treat myself.

I loved the Portland one. And have always hoped for Las Vegas! I might evenbe unpacked by 2015...

eregel 2014-05-31 7:09am

Vegas is always a popular venue because you can get cheap flights there from almost everywhere - and it might make it an easier sell for spouses, because there'd be plenty to do. But in terms of personal tourism, I can't picture having time to do anything around the Gathering week - I scarcely carved out enough time to sleep! It might as well be in Cleveland or Schenectady, because I'm not going to see the town anyway!

glasshouse 2014-05-31 9:00am

Vegas is gross and hot in July.

glasshouse 2014-05-31 9:01am

LA, San Diego, SF, Portland, Seattle would all be decent weather and easy to get to.

kandice 2014-05-31 9:23am

It's been a decade since it was in Portland - I would love it to be in Portland!! I have family there, so it would be easy to travel. Nice weather, too - not too hot. The southwest would be too hot for me personally.

Baywinger 2014-05-31 9:37am

SF Bay area

Sadie Mae 2014-06-01 10:07am

How about RENO!!!!!!
Vegas is toooooooo stinkin' hot!

sunnyone 2014-06-01 7:39pm

portland portland portland! have family there too and cant make this year:( moving in sept. if the move doesnt happen i will be there though!

Kendra Bruno 2014-06-11 6:43am

The location of the 2015 Gathering should be announced in the next week or two. Remember...there is still time to enjoy the 2014 event in Houston. :)

And because our event is always in the 'hot' of summer, it will be hot no matter where we go. *wink* Working with glass can be hot too, so the fun happens no matter what the temperature! <big smile>

Best to all,
Kendra

I spent most of the last one inside with people…and there was plenty of A/C :)

tiggybubba 2014-06-11 2:56pm

Can't wait.

SGA 2014-06-11 3:04pm

It's unbearably hot in many places of the country. The kicker is humidity. A/C removes humidity from the inside of a building. So as long as that is running along, everybody should be perfectly fine. :)

I'd love it to be in Seattle again.

steiconi 2014-06-12 5:18pm

Hilo, Hilo, Hilo, make it Hilo...
fingers crossed, but not the least bit hopeful.

CheriB 2014-06-12 5:27pm

Hilo would be ok, but how about Kauai instead!!???? Let's put Hawaii in the running for a Gathering. I could bunk about 15 people at my house. You'd need sleeping bags, but wouldn't it be great?

steiconi 2014-06-15 7:46pm

Well, let's be fair and do it on Oahu. Easier and cheaper for all the outer island folk.
But there is a healthy glass community on the BI.

Mina 2014-06-15 8:03pm

Cheri, sign me up. I have sleeping bag-will travel ...lol

glass butterfly 2014-06-19 7:50pm

I've never been to the big Island and the gathering would give me a great excuse to finally go there. I have a sleeping bag all ready to go ;-) Lydia in no glass land Lynchburg,Va
