Goofy new Heart design

I was making purple hearts this weekend and wanted to make something that wasn't so...well...serious. Something to really put a smile on their faces. Then it occurred to me that a SMILE would put a smile on their faces. So here is my first attempt.

I have a lot of refining to do before I'm satisfied, but they were so much fun to make that I'm sure that over time I'll work out the details.

Thanks guys. When I think what those little ones go through, it feels good to be able to make something that makes them smile.

So cute and wonderful! I love them Diane! I'm sure the kids will too! :) Love the purple base/frit also...

Diane Woodall 2011-05-24 6:11am

Thanks so much. DeAnne, the base is CIM Heffalump with Beadgoodies Mystic frit. One of my favorite color combos.

Same here! How can you keep from smiling when you look at them?

lenora 2011-05-25 6:32am

I think they are perfect! The smile fits the meaning of the purple heart perfectly!!! That's exactly how they feel when they get that purple heart.

Diane Woodall 2011-05-25 6:42am

Thanks so much for the encouraging words. I plan on making a lot more of them when time allows, maybe even trying a few with crooked teeth or an overbite. Just need to sketch it all out to see how I could do it. I also thought it would be cute to put some animal faces on the beads...cats, dogs, teddy bears. It's tough when you're over 50 and you have to try and think like a kid. :)
