Are you too close without having the close-up feature active? Also, if you're using isp 100, you need to be very stable. Any movement will cause image to be blurry.

You are using a tripod, correct?

Sounds like your camera is too close to the subject. Move it back and then zoom in.

I have that same camera - here is a link to a thread I started about using it to get better pics - might help!

I just went back and reread that thread - you may not have the macro mode selected properly. I was able to get really close with it done right.

its confused me LOL i havnt got a clue about shutter speed i dont even know how to find it, ive bought a new camera now :)

it's in your manual.

I had the same camera and now I have the L4. What you can't sharpen up using the camera, you can always fix it with your photo editing software.

Adjusting camera speed, apertures, etc reminds me of Macroeconomics!

1. put camera in MACRO mode.
2 turn off flash
3. use diffused lighting (possibly a lamp shade to shield direct light)
4, as suggested a tripod
5. background that contrasts the bead colors.

Best bet (said above too)

MACRO mode
Tripod
