Once you have it thickened up and it kinda looks like a rod implosion, treat it like one for the "bloom" effect. ;)

Yep, a nice over all heat is the key. It will soak in to the center. You'll get a bit of an indent on the future lens, but can correct and shape that once the tube is removed. More heat or better...

The Flip does an OK job of shooting regular video, but it won't show hot...
