Make a base of ...something, then encase with raku, THEN encase again.
It has a better chance.
Even when I make teensy beads with lots of clear encasement, they crack.

INtense black will get a silver sheen on it when reduced...haven't tried it on the rod, but my intense black frit always used to go silver on me to my frustration. (before I knew what i was doing)
