I've made them before and the sterling did not hold up well. I'd try copper, at least 18 gauge. Stainless is good too but the heavier gauges are hard to work.

Art in the Round reamers don't play well with all bead releases. I think Fusion is the hardest on them. I've used them and like them but they don't last forever for me - I use Fusion.

What color glass are you using? Silver doesn't play well with every color. Also, try heating a spot on the bead to apply the silver. Let the silver adhere to the hot bead, not the bead to hot silver....
