I garage my beads at 970 and don't have a problem with french vanilla as a base. I always put my beads in slightly glowing though. Hope that helps a little.

I wouldn't chance it. Why not use some 90coe Schott clear as a punty instead? It is a bit stiffer than regular Bullseye although definitely not as stiff as boro.
