Same here, if you let it get too hot it will be yucky. If you really want to play with it, make the bead or design then put a thin layer of clear on top and it will give you a little more...

I love the look of it all! I like rustic, and old. DH uses old wood to build things for my studio and we torch it to give it a nice color and bring out the wood grain.
