All the rods were cleaned with alcohol then buffed and the ends were torn off before using. However, the checking and frothing on the Gypsy Queen is within the glass. We will test more this weekend...

After reading around on other fora, I found a statement that they need to be worked cooler. So, I'm guessing they just got too hot. I figured it was a user problem rather than a glass problem.

I use liquid silver polish like Tarn-X to remove silvering on turquoise, copper green and the like. No worry about etching at all. I have forgotten beads in the jar for weeks and have had no problems...
