I have the knob on the flowmeter yurned all the way up. The flame with out glasses on is blue at the torch and then goes to white. The flame is 5-6 inches long.

At least a couple of minutes. After I can see the glass glow I can barely get the footprint around the mandrel. Its very very stiff and cools really easy. Does that help at all?
