I find that Chalcedony has a greater range of color and also breaks into a sort of fractured pattern when cooled on brass.

Multi is darker but very pretty, and not so much variety of color.

I have had bead release break in cold weather. If I dip the mandrels and let them dry in the house, then take to the cold garage to work right away they don't seem to break.

I use stainless steel shot, a mixture of balls and pins, and a little dishwashing soap in warm water. Tumble for about an hour and your Bali will sparkle.
