I use a small stainless steel dog bowl too but mine doesn't rust (maybe because the water evaporates in a few days) - wouldnt matter though as I don't reuse that glass either lol
Before that I used a square plastic tupperware bowl but I got the "you'll shoot your eye out" speech from someone about using plastic near the torch so I swapped it out.
