I'd say Brent's first DVD is an awesome introduction on how to work striking boro color and make some cool pendants. That+the colors he lists are enough for a good start while avoiding some of the pickier boro colors which might discourage you at first.

The colors listed here by others look great with one exception - I'd suggest avoiding sparkle colors like unobtanium and also stay away from "crayon" colors - anything cadmium based (WYSIWYG reds, yellows, oranges etc.) for now.
