I am afraid I can only say I am sorry you are having trouble.
I am on a HH also, but use the 1 pound Mapp cans so I am not familiar with your setup. I have never taken my torch head apart, so I cannot even help with that part. I am not even sure why I am replying except for HH solidarity!
