The TCL issues are exactly the same problems I had. But once you get the new Orton board, it runs perfectly. I got the new board within a matter of days. You don't have to ship off the kiln to have it fixed.
To fix it, you just unscrew the control panel face on the front of the controller, pull out the face, unplug a couple wires, replace it with the new board/face and screw it back in. It takes about 5 minutes.
There are four programs on this controller too, not two.
I haven't had one problem since replacing the board and I really love this kiln.
