BFA'S are filled with metal find like a brillo pad. During a back flash the metal starts to burn and starves the fire of oxygen. The hose will still be hot. However, T12 hose is designed with that in mind. Figure out what caused the back flash, take a deep breath, replace the arrestor, and keep on trucking.
