I also cut my glass, but I have taken it one step further...if you are using a press, weigh a bead that fits in the press. (I have a good gram scale) Then weigh and cut your glass to the correct amount. If you are doing heavy decorating, take off a small amount. I can now make the perfect amount for my press...nugget, lentil etc etc. No more guessing if it is going to be enough. Weighing also works good because rods are different diameters.
