I use a mix of roughly 1/2 kiln wash and 1/2 alumina hydrate, both from Seattle Pottery Supply. Michael Barley told us this recipe in his class and I like it better than anything I've ever tried, for both boro and soft glass. It's best if it sits overnight after you first add water, but then it's great either air or flame-dried.
